Description

Last night I was getting reacquainted with my Milky Way rig and was testing my new Sigma 40mm f/1.4 along with my Skyguider Pro and good old Nikon D800 (not modified although I really want to!). I'm trying to practice so that when I go to the desert (Anza Borrego in CA) in the next few weeks I am ready to go. I took two shots (one for the sky and one for the foreground) and had really mixed emotions. I was happy that everything worked but I was sad to see how much light pollution has taken over my city. Milky Way pics from the backyard were a breeze and I could make out a lot of the core with the naked eye. Last night I even had the L-Pro light pollution filter on and even then it was hard to process the final image. Anyway, thanks for looking and clear skies!
